This cute hotel is in the middle of renovations but several buildings are already complete. We stayed in the pool building and although our room had a view of the dumpsters it was a nice, we'll appointed room. Loved the upgraded hair dryer, as well as a nice mattress and the in room microwave and refrigerator. The hot tub is two tier, so it holds more people than you think. Walking distance to Tahoe Bowl. Only con, I booked through Orbitz because this is an Orbitz VIP hotel and received no upgrade, discounts, etc., which according to Orbitz should be included in the stay, instead we got the room between the elevator and stairs with a view of the dumpsters.

“The hotel”… has been recently refurbished and looks like a new hotel. Everything was pleasant. The front desk clerks checking in were very efficient and welcoming. When we called for our reservation we were told the only king room available was a handicap accessible room. A few days before our trip we got a call saying our room was refurbished but wasn't ready for occupancy and would we like to be upgraded to a one bedroom suite — we said sure. We were pleased with the apartment sized (1,000 sq ft) suite. Everything was really pleasant, clean and comfortable. Inn by the Lake is located just across the street from El Dorado Beach, an active summer community event area for South Lake Tahoe. I can see how staying here for a week in the summer would be perfect.

Great location, nice room, with a balcony! We had a wonderful weekend and walked to everything!! It’s right across the street from the lake! The Bear Beach Cafe is literally almost the same parking lot and the food is delicious food! Their lemonade is so yummy and the biggest I've ever seen AND their breakfast food was amazing! We also walked to Freshies for dinner one night and the Brewery at Tahoe for my hubby to enjoy some beer! It's just down the street. This hotel is perfectly good and anyone complaining about it is just silly. We didn't encounter any rude staff or any other hotel issues! We would highly recommend! We are hoping to come back again next year! I think for the price it was just right!

We really enjoyed our stay at the “Hotel”. We were greeted by very nice staff when we arrived. We went on a snowshoeing adventure the next day. … the front desk gave us some great ideas on where we could drive out to the snow and not have to pay. Borrowing the complimentary snowshoes meant we had a great adventure for free. Our spacious room was clean and close to the relaxing hot tub. The only thing we found to be a bummer was that the refrigerator in our room wasn't working. All in all, I found our weekend trip to be most enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a great time at the inn by the lake. The room was cozy and pet friendly the room came with a dog bed, bowl with dog treats and there were several other dogs nearby intended I am sure. They have a large hot tub and heated pool. The inn is right next to a state park, restaurant, bowling alleys and far enough from the strip that you can relax but still easy to get to. From our balcony we could watch the sunset over the lake. The price was reasonable only complaint is they ran out of pool robes
