Labor Day Activities in Lake Tahoe
Labor Day marks the end of summer in Lake Tahoe and what better way to wrap up the season than a holiday weekend of non-stop fun! South Lake Tahoe is full of Labor Day celebrations on and off the water. There is something for everyone in the family like car shows, concerts, shopping, and laser shows.
Labor Day Lasers at Lakeview
Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority, City of South Lake Tahoe, and On Course Events have teamed up to present a Labor Day celebration at Lakeview Commons. Laser Day, also known as Labor Day Lasers at Lakeview will take place at Lakeview Commons on Sunday, September 2nd.
This free and family-friendly event starts at 4:30 pm with music provided by a DJ, featuring dozens of local vendors, food vendors, beer/ wine garden, and an after-dark laser display on the lake. The laser show will run from 8:30 – 9:00 pm utilizing Lake Tahoe and the trees surrounding Lakeview Commons as a backdrop. This 30-minute spectacular light show is provided by UVLasers 99 who are responsible for some of the lasers and fire shows featured at Burning Man, Snowglobe Music Festival and more.
Summer Concert Series Finales
Music is in the air all around South Lake Tahoe and like the saying goes, “you save the best for last”. The Heavenly Village Summer Concert series wraps up the final concerts and is guaranteed to be a blast on both Friday, August 31st and Saturday, September 1st, starting at 5:30 pm. Enjoy great food and awesome music vibes right in the middle of the action in the Heavenly Village.
Live at Lakeview Summer Concert series will wrap up its 7th season of live music on the beach this Thursday, August 30th. The final show will feature some surprise performances from some the local area’s top reggae bands. Why not catch some great tunes and beautiful sunset just steps away from Hotel Azure.
The Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena will feature The Scorpions with special guest Queensrÿche on Friday, August 31st, marking one of the final shows of the 2018 Lake Tahoe Outdoor Concert Series.
Midway Art & Music Festival
The Heavenly Village will host the Midway Art & Music Festival Friday, August 31st - Sunday, September 2nd. A full weekend of family-friendly entertainment including full carnival rides, art show, caricature artists, jugglers, fortune teller, face painter, and a Classic Car Show & Shine. There will be live music all weekend, Heavenly Village will have two stages for 14 local artists performing bluegrass, funk, country and rock ’n roll. New this year is a 5k run starting at the Village on Saturday, September 1st at 11:00 am.
Heavenly Sports Labor Day Tent Sale
Who doesn’t like scoring a great deal on pricey winter gear? Starting Saturday, September 1st - Monday, September 3rd, the annual three day Ski & Snowboard Sale returns to Heavenly’s California Main Lodge at the top of Ski Run Blvd.
Outside under the tents is the largest selection of ski and board apparel sorted and sized ready to be cleared out at the lowest prices of the year. Heavy discounts on previous year models and preview discounts on new 2019 product model skis, boards, bindings, boots, apparel, accessories, helmets.
