Wish You Were Here
In light of COVID-19 everyone’s health and safety is the most important thing. At this time Hotel Azure is echoing Tahoe South’s request for you to Stay Home and Stay Safe. This means that despite our love and desire to share our friendly and picturesque town we must ask everyone at this time to not travel to or around South Lake Tahoe. We will travel again in the future but until that time we ask you to stay home and stay safe.
Once travel resumes, we know that physical distancing measures may remain a priority for you to keep yourself and your loved ones safe while travelling. Hotel Azure is located in a quiet area away from the crowds at Stateline, surrounded by soaring Jeffrey Pines. It is a secluded hideaway surrounded by nature. As such, our team has compiled a small selection of natural experiences you can enjoy outdoors once the Government determines that it is once again safe to travel.
Lakeview Commons
Just across the street from Hotel Azure is scenic Lake Tahoe. This large freshwater lake provides amazing naturally deep blue waters and beaches. When the travel bans are lifted we invite you to stroll down to Lakeview commons, just minutes from Hotel Azure. At Lakeview commons you can sunbathe on the beach, rent a Stand-Up Paddle Board or canoe, or simply enjoy building sandcastles and dipping your toes in the lake.
Eagle Falls to Lake Schmidell Hiking Trail
Located just 22 minutes from Hotel Azure, by Emerald Bay Road, the Eagle Falls to Lake Schmidell and Lake Louis trail is a 19 mile loop trail which is rated difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best to explore between April to October. Dogs are allowed on the trail and must be kept on leash. This hike offers the opportunity to reconnect with nature, in a secluded environment, for those seeking a challenging day in the outdoors.
South Lake Tahoe Bike Trail
Once the travel bans are lifted, borrow a complimentary bike from Hotel Azure to explore the local area. Within South Lake Tahoe is a 10 mile paved loop which is completely separate from the highway. This trail is located right across from Hotel Azure and meanders through the forest for ten miles. Take the day to leisurely peddle along in the sunshine to two beautiful Lake Tahoe beaches. (Pope and Baldwin) This popular path passes through Historic Camp Richardson and offers several scenic side trips, including the Tallac Historic Site and Fallen Leaf Lake.
We are a strong country, so while you are not able to currently visit in person, rest assured that our town and businesses are working together to ensure your net trip will be one that will long live in your memory, when it’s safe for everyone to do so.
We look forward to welcoming you to South Lake Tahoe soon.
