Experience Lake Tahoe like the pioneers did, on horseback
“Clip, Clop, Clip, clop”… the sound of horse hooves on the ground beneath you as you sway from left to right along the trail. This was the sound that the pioneers of Lake Tahoe heard as they crested the mountaintop and looked out over the beautiful azure waters of the largest alpine lake in North America, and you can too!
Experience at the two South Lake Tahoe stables is not necessary; all you need is a love of the outdoors and some sunscreen!

Camp Richardson Corral is a 10-minute drive from Hotel Azure Tahoe and is open from June until Labor Day. They do require that trail riders are at least 6 years old (225 pounds or less) but, for an hour or more you can see Lake Tahoe like they did in the Wild West era. If you have young ones then there are pony rides and hay rides to enjoy as well!
Zephyr Cove Stables is another fantastic choice to get out enjoy an hour or more of nature and breathtaking views! Just a thirteen minute drive from the hotel and you can be trotting over streams and winding your way through granite boulders and majestic pine trees.
